SUMMER RECESS Posting has been slow here for the last couple months, but it's about to get even slower: CONTRAPOSITIVE will be on hiatus through the end of June.

Between now and then, please avail yourself of the blog links at right. And if you haven't checked out the Youtube selections below, they're worth a look.

See you in July.

FRIDAY FUN The Korine/Letterman sequel.

JAILTIME So it looks like both Scooter Libby and Rep. William Jefferson (D-LA) will be heading off to jail--one sooner, one later.

Unless Libby gets a pardon. Unless Jefferson beats his charges. But neither of those seems especially likely to me--at least at the moment.

Isn't it telling, though, that the Republican response to the conviction of a Republican is to call for a pardon, while the response to the indictment of a Democrat is to try to expel him from the House?

Even when both happen during the same week?
