FOR THE RECORD Every day that Mike Brown remains director of FEMA is a day that the Bush adminstration--collectively, and in the person of President George W. Bush--demonstrates to the world that it is utterly unserious.

By retaining Brown, the Bushies are proving beyond a shadow of a doubt that they are feckless, frivolous, flighty, and soft-witted.
