SANDERS FOR SENATE Bernie Sanders (I-VT), Vermont's popular, colorful congressman and the only "Democratic socialist" in the House of Representatives, is likely to run for the Senate seat being vacated by the retiring James Jeffords (I-VT), the New York Times reports.
The Vermont Democrats are likely to sit out the election in deference to the left-leaning Sanders.
