BARNES WANTS THE CONCH Andrew Sullivan directs readers to this quote from Weekly Standard executive editor and Fox News contributor Fred Barnes:
True, there is an arguable federalism issue: whether taking the issue out of a state's jurisdiction is constitutional. But it pales in comparison with the moral issue.
So there it is: Barnes is advocating that we set aside the Constitution when it conflicts with his own personal moral sensibility. Wonderful.

The fact that this kind of reasoning isn't thought to be outside the bounds of civilized, adult discourse gives me the shivers.
